Stale Office

The only good line on last night’s episode of The Office (which can be seen online) was Toby, the human resources director of the Scranton branch, asking for an additional copy (the eleventh) of Michael’s personal diary.
The episodes have become more stale this season, and it is obvious that the relationship between Jim and Pam needs to end (for comedy sake). But how can the writing staff (once they’ve ended their strike) conclude that part of the story, without an overly-dramatic soap-opera feel, like Pam becoming possessed by the devil, Jim becoming ordained to fight the satanic overlord, and upon Pam’s recovery, Jim choosing to end the relationship because the whole satanic ritual thing was a big turn-off.
If this were a real office, and two coworkers dated and then broke it off, the two would become extremely awkward around one another. That is exactly what I would like to see happen on The Office, sooner rather than later.
Note to writing staff: Good luck with the strike, and feel free to use the above storyline, but I get a percentage. And a writing credit.
