Warranted Protection

I got one of those calls from my credit card company (Chase) this past Saturday — on a weekend — where they offer to “protect” me from harm for a nominal monthly fee.

My pet issue has always been banking reform — even with DailyKos transvestites — and that is the one issue that will most resonate with working Americans, maybe not politically, but in terms of actual results.

Credit card companies are the cause of the problem (with credit card fraud and identity theft) and the solution, and with these supposed protection programs, they are trying to weasel in as the middle man as well.

My home phone has the ability to record phone calls, so when the customer service representative on the line informs me that the call is being recorded for quality control purposes, I hit the record button and let them know I am doing the same. Here’s the recorded conversation…
