A Year Of Reading

Posted at 10:35 am on Thursday, December 20, 2007, in Reading.

I suffered through an abnormally long train ride this morning since I forgot my next book (read: relativity). I finished Cat’s Cradle during last night’s commute, and was looking forward to continuing the month of Vonnegut, but that will have to wait until tomorrow.

Since one man’s trash is another man’s treasure — I am unsure where I am going with this — and the end of the calendar year is a popular time for year-in-reviews, I am reflecting on the year that was for reading, a total of twelve books since I started the project, including five by Vonnegut, in a little over twelve months.

1 – Bagumbo Snuff Box by Kurt Vonnegut
2 – The Funnies by J. Robert Lennon
3 – The Night In Question by Tobias Wolff
4 – Old School by Tobias Wolff
5 – House of Sand and Fog by Andre Dubus III
6 – Timequake by Kurt Vonnegut
7 – On the Road by Jack Kerouac
8 – Jack Kerouac, Selected Letters, 1957-1969
unfinishedWormholes by John Fowles
9 – The World According to Garp by John Irving
10 – The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand
11 – Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut
12 – Cat’s Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut
