Lieberman Jumps On Old Man Express

John McCain is all but a relic of his former self. He had thought it would be 2000 all over again, with the media swooning over his straight talk, an easy nomination. But eight years of a disastrous Bush presidency, and five years of a worsening war in Iraq, McCain has had to make adjustments in his campaign. At one point, many centrist democrats would have considered voting for McCain (the 2000 McCain, that is).

Things can’t be good however for the once front-runner for the GOP nomination if he is celebrating the endorsement of Joseph Lieberman, the one true loser of the historic 2000 election. McCain already has favor of the hawks, so Lieberman adds little there, but where McCain once had cross-over appeal from the democrats, parading Lieberman will only subtract from that column.
