Two Beds

Houses have his and her closets. They also have his and her vanities. Hell, some even have his and her shower heads. But the time has come to bring back his and her beds. I have come to realize the convenience of having two while away from home on business.
On the one bed, I sleep. On the other, I work. On the one bed, I awake well-rested. On the other, I dine. The one bed is where I retreat after a long day, bundle up, and read a book. On the other, I entertain.

A most astute post! I agree with your observations, but I differ with your list of activities. I have to wonder how you dine on the other bed (white tablecloth, fine china, and candelabra, perhaps?), and, much more importantly, how you entertain on the other bed (Nintendo Wii, perhaps?).

good one. We just stayed at hotel at the base of ski slope last weekend. Two queen beds….one we slept in, the other we used to layout all of our clothes and toiletries as well as a table for pizza night.

When guests visit, they are relegated to the entertaining bed. The privacy of my sleeping bed must never be compromised.
