Elections are about images. It may be unfortunate, but in today’s world of thirty-second soundbytes and an electoral process that whittles down important voters to a mere tens of thousands, it is a fact that we have to live with. The presidential election is foremost a beauty contest.
And no matter how many stodgy speeches John McCain makes, his chances for the presidency rely on whether or not he can escape this image…
