Trees That Provide

Scientists and engineers do not grow on trees.” — Thomas Friedman, on page 373 (paperback*) in the book I am currently reading.

* This is as good a time as ever to declare that I refuse to purchase (and read) hardcover books. First, they cost twice as much, but more importantly, they are difficult and uncomfortable to hold. A good book needs to mold into your palms, whichever shape they take at any particular time.
