Awkward

Just wanted to make a few observations before the big speech from Palin…

- Did the GOP speechwriters take the election cycle off? This has been pathetic.

- Mitt Romney’s junker is reminiscent of Pat Buchanan’s 1992 convention disaster.

- The awkward Governor of Hawaii Linda Lingle stressed one point over chants of “none” from the dimwits in attendance: that Biden and Obama do not have executive experience. Word to the wise: neither does McCain.

- And talk about failing to dot the i’s and cross the t’s. Romney ripped on union members in his speech, and then Lingle mentioned that Palin’s husband is a union member. Awkward.

I absolutely LOVE how McCain’s party is stressing all of this “executive esperience” which appears to be necessary before any candidate could seriously be considered for President. If I remember correctly, one of the founding fathers of his party didn’t have any “executive experience” (a man whom history refers to as “A. Lincoln”) when elected. An even more cogent argument against this “executive experience” canard is borne out by the current occupant of the Office of the President: he’s had two terms as governor of Texas, and he hasn’t exactly done a memorable job in either position. It seems the Republicans are so bereft of ideas that they have to run on “pesonality,” as little as their candidates display, that is.
