I am supposed to be in New Orleans next week — to study the New Orleans levee system, no less — but something tells me that the conference will be cancelled…

And I just received this email from the conference organizer in response to my email asking what the chances were the conference was going to be cancelled…

No cancellation. The AEG annual meeting is definitely going to happen. The hotel is good and AEG doesn’t see that Hurricane Ike will do anything to New Orleans.
