Tumblr, The End

My time on Tumblr lasted a little more than one year, and although it did have some good points, I knew my time would ultimately come to an end, sooner rather than later.
I would like to tell myself that I gave a full-hearted attempt to enjoy the service, or even consider it useful, but I believe the stench from my original (and persistent) criticisms probably clouded my judgment, although I’m sure it didn’t affect the outcome. It was simply never going to work out in the end, so instead of trying to make it work (which was revealing itself to be impossible), I decided to kill it…

I have no doubt that Tumblr will work for some people, but for others — with the endless possibilities from WordPress and Movable Type — it is certainly inadequate. It took some time to find the direct link to delete my account (it is not available in any of Tumblr’s sloppy pull-down menus or even their Help page), alas I did eventually find it.
