Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

This movie is neither good nor bad, just ‘eh.’ And there is no reason to not keep making them. There was no other reason to bring in Shia LaBeouf to play Indiana Jones’ son (oops, retroactive spoiler alert) then to have the ability to continue the series. Jones could become sort of like a Bond film series. I could see that happening. And there is no reason not too. People will pay to see it. It’s Indiana Jones. It’s a brand.

This unnecessary sequel reminded me a great deal of the “Godfather, Part 3,” in that it was conceived and executed (no pun intended) with the sole purpose of milking yet more money from a franchise which had seen better days. The special effects were forced and stale, the plot was mechanical, and we’ve seen all we need to see of the characters. I can envision the dollar signs in the eyes of the movie execs who greenlighted this work!
