Buffalo Road Trip

I spent some time planning a road trip around the Buffalo region a few weeks ago, but now that I think about it, it is probably impossible (or equally foolish).

First, it takes roughly three hours of driving, assuming no traffic on Thanksgiving weekend. Considering that we actually enjoy the stops, that is an easy six- or seven-hour trip. Second, daylight is becoming limited. I don’t even know if there are seven hours of light in the tundra at this point in the year. Third, it is cold. Sure, not cold enough that blasting the heater in the car won’t fix, but that is no fun. And fourth, why drive if I don’t have to?

So what I am now imagining is a truncated trip, hitting the bigger winterized attractions, and subtracting out the sprint to Lake Ontario and Fort Niagara. That will reduce the trip by two hours. There are things that I’d like to see, but some are better-suited for summer.
