Obama Win Causes Obsessive Supporters To Realize How Empty Their Lives Are
For the record, as happy as I am that Barack Obama won the election, this does not include me (via TPM)…
Still No Respect
Despite winning a long-deserved World Series championship, the Phillies only managed to garner 491 votes nationally in the presidential election, far below the respectable 19,000 votes Ron Paul received… Image: CNN.com Oh, maybe the votes were cast for this guy, and not the baseball team. The voters were probably confused though, especially those fickle undecideds.
Okay
Is it safe to come out and play? Or has everything been fixed already, with nothing to gripe about? World peace and hunger; health care? Have lobbyists been run-out of town? Has there been substantive banking reform? I do plan on opining on Tuesday’s historic election — at times even against my better judgment, and [...]
Obama Wins
I’m calling it — Obama wins the presidency. (It is 7:05 reyonthehill time.)
A Modest Proposal
You may have not realized it — even with the free coffee at Starbucks — but today is Election Day, but not just any election day… it is the most important day of our lives. (A tad overstated, no?) Here are some changes I would like to see for future elections… – You should be [...]
Blessed
I just got off the phone with a colleague in Boulder, Colorado (his vote counts), and left him with this salutation: May you have a blessed Election Day. Which got me thinking. Why aren’t there Election Day greeting cards? This is an untapped market.
Far and Away
I wonder if Tom Cruise was nuts back then. Did Nicole Kidman know it and just not tell anyone? These are questions that we need answers to. And I’m not sure if I’d leave the rugged coast of Ireland for the dry-scape of the Oklahoma flat, although freedom may play a role, I guess; or [...]
I’d Say Strong to Quite Strong
I am not a very good predictor (although I did predict Bush would win in 2004), but I figure I should get this down before Election Day (or my version of Christmas). Obama/Biden 318, McCain/Palin 220. You read it here first. (My numbers reflect that McCain will steal Ohio, and Obama will steal Florida, Virginia [...]
Over/Under
This past week I was thinking 125 or 130 million votes for tomorrow, however, based on the coverage of the somewhat ridiculous lines for early voting, I’m going to be bold and predict an astounding 140 million votes cast for this historic election. Although I’d put my money on the under for 140, I do [...]
Campaign Thoughts
- I wonder how Joseph Lieberman’s feeling about his big gamble. He certainly should be removed from the Democratic caucus, especially if the dems can reach 60 votes without him. Lieberman not only stepped across the fine line this election season, he pole vaulted over it. – Driving through Berkeley last week, I noticed some [...]
