111 Friends

I do not have 111 friends. I don’t think I’ll ever have 111 friends, nor do I think that I’ll want to. With that being said, for one fleeting moment, I did have 111 friends. At least according to my Facebook account.

I think if I added up all of the friends that I would want to know what I may be doing at any given time, or provided access to any photos that I had taken, or any photos that were taken of me, et cetera, I would have to guess that number is on the order of 15, or 25, or 35, or 40, or 50. Max. Certainly not 111.

So I’ve been cutting back. The first step was getting under the hump: 100. Done. And the next step will be reducing my count to a much more comfortable and manageable level. I’m thinking that is somewhere around 65. I hope people don’t take offense. I haven’t when I’ve been dropped (well, maybe just a little; who does he think he is?). One contact that I have recently de-friended has only more recently requested friendship… again. He has nearly 500 “friends” and I wonder if he even remembers that we were already friends. Awkward. I’ve left that request in limbo.
