A meeting

I met with this guy last night. We sat at a table in the nearby Starbucks for ninety minutes or so. I didn’t order a coffee, although he offered to buy me one. I am not a “coffee-person,” I never have been, but it has never been easy turning down coffee. It is still not socially acceptable, like not smoking in the sixties. Afterward, I shook his hand, although he said he probably shouldn’t because he was sick and had been coughing into his hand. I told him that it was alright, and he thanked me. He asked me to be sure to wash my hands when I got home. I did.

intriguing. i doubt you just happened to bump into him at a starbucks since you aren’t so much on the coffee tip. what was the purpose of this meeting?

Quite the opposite; I frequent coffee shops for the aroma and good people.
