Not Yet Resolved

I am not one to make public my resolutions, but then again, I have a blog. I have not yet told my wife about these; she’ll learn soon enough. Also, these are my public resolutions, and not personal self-improvement ones…
- Use Flickr more. A lot more. And start geotagging photos. It may be a pain in the ass (unless your camera automatically records that information), but in the long-run, it will probably be worth it. At least this is what I keep telling myself.
- Create one HD video per week with my Kodak Zi6 (and post to Vimeo). Family-style. Like good ol’ fashioned home movies. But on the internet. And more produced. With effects and storylines and credits. Actually, nothing like home movies. And a much bigger and profound pain in the ass.
- Re-discover my inner-self and fix the looming storage crisis. Let’s see: Mozy, Jungle Disk/S3, several terabytes on external drives, FTP web server. What am I supposed to do with all of the not-so-great photos and the raw video footage I have? It’s gigs, hundreds of gigs. And I need to also provide real-time backups (nightly, weekly, monthly, quarterly). Don’t ask me how; it just gets done. But the storage — it is fleeting. I’m lost in translation. I need to figure this out. As soon as possible — scratch that; it takes up too much space — ASAP.
