The State

There was a guy who used to work with me — and for me — and my company fired him. He was just not good at what he did (and what we did). When I asked him to do a task, he would do it poorly, and when I asked him to improve his work, he would make excuses until I became frustrated and completed the work myself. I told him that I was not pleased with his work. His work behavior did not change, and I let my supervisors know. He was eventually fired.
I learned yesterday that he now has a job with the state, and with the department of the state that is our client, and on the job that I currently work. That is, on the project that he did poorly and for which he was fired (for cause), he is now the client and will be responsible for understanding the work that we provide, the work he was incapable of doing, and in my opinion, understanding, and he now works ostensibly for the citizens of the state, and for an inflated salary (based on his past work experience).
The state.
