Obama At 50 Days

I like Barack Obama. I think he’s been a pretty good president so far. If asked, I would certainly say that I “approve” of his job performance. If asked to clarify that further, on a scale of 1 to 100 — with 1 being very poor and 100 being outstanding — I would say that, based on what he has had to deal with as an incoming president, a plate that hasn’t been as full and deep and rancid in decades, Obama has done a very good job. I would give him an 80. That’s a ‘B’ in most schools, but an ‘A’ is impossible in this case.

An ‘A’ would mean balanced budgets, restored investor confidence in the markets, retreating enemies overseas, and also affordable health coverage, improved education conditions, strengthened environmental regulations, reduced government spending, lowered taxes for the middle class, etc. I repeat, an ‘A’ is next to impossible; but I’d settle for an ‘A-minus.’
