Workdress Wednesday

Nearly two months ago, I scribbled an idea on the white-board in my office. Not a virtual one — an actual physical white-board with different colored markers on a tray along with an eraser that never seems to wipe the board clean. It read Workdress Wednesday. I threw in a dot-com just for kicks.
In my line of work, wearing a shirt and tie is not only unnecessary, but collectively looked down upon. A dress-shirt, sure, a polo and khakis, definitely; but a tie, what are you trying to prove? And outside a few outstanding occasions, like very important meetings with clients, I’ve followed the office code. Well, mostly.
Except on Wednesdays. For six consecutive weeks now, I have worn a shirt and tie, and without fail, someone different in the office notices that something is askew, and asks why I’m dressed-up. “It’s Wednesday.”

oh my god. are you offended that i am wildly entertained by this? i love the idea that you are engaging in subversive behavior by dressing up, despite my hatred of having to wear “professional” clothes.
also, do you know that will and rhys are the only two people in the history of murray to show up to their interviews in a suit? i like to think it is how rhys tricked andy into hiring him despite no experience with or knowledge of geotechnical engineering. as for will…

@aly – It’s a different tact for the prototypical “hump day.”
